11/8

Our terrarium has gone down a half inch. Surprisingly the spider is still alive. There are still many bugs and some new larva. The side with water in it has gone down an inch. The temp is 75 degrees for the whole terrarium.

Monday, October 28, 2013

A couple weeks ago we put water on one side of the terrarium. The only noticeable difference was the side with water was colder but both sides we're were five inches.
* fun fact our terrarium is still composting while the temp continues to go down.

Invasive species

We took another lengthy and dreary trip to sentenial woods where one bored student took it apon himself to slowly and non vigorously pull out the invasive specifies the burning bush or some other overtaking plant.

Story of the woods

There was a field in the middle of the woods. This man, he raised wild cattle there and they lived in this field for the rest of their lives. But when the man and his cows passed away the field was never used again so then some wild pine trees started to grow erry where. They grew so high with all their needles reaching for the sky. Later on some maple trees started to grow for they needed less sun light. Now in this field that cows used to graze lye some trees reaching for sun rays.

Terrarium 10/11

Our terrarium has made some drastic changes, it has shrunk two inches and has gone up one degree from the earlier post of 70degrees and 8inches to six inches. The spider is still living and there must have been some type of maggots inside for now we have flys. There are still many hard shelled bugs.

We made a disturbance of water to rein-act a natural disturbance we sectioned off part of our terrarium and just added water to it and we will record what happens in the next week or so.

My spizzooot

My first time at my spizzooot was yesterday 10/3 while there I hear a frog croaking and a small streams water slowly trickling. All I could smell was decomposing trees, wet leaves, and fresh cold air. The things I felt was the wet and hard fallen down tree trunk I was sitting on. Around me I saw and killed many mosquitos and as I looked around I saw lots of leaves that had changes colors and trees that had fallen in a recent storm.

Terrarium 10/4

Our terrarium has sunk down from 9.25 inches when we started to 8 inches today. The temperature has also gone down to 70 degrees Fahrenheit from the original temp of 74 degrees. The spider from the beginning was spotted yesterday and is still alive, there are still many little hard shelled bugs inside our bottles. Now there are small green plants growing throughout our compost.
